Phil and Riot drive to Austin (Texas) to contend against Psycho Miko and his gang, Barrio Azteca, who are extorting a whole neighborhood. It’s a complicated situation; usually their assignments involve getting rid of one person, not five. But the reward is worth the risk. It’s so worth it, that Phil and Riot wonder how the neighbors can afford it. What they don’t know is that behind the idea of wiping out Barrio Azteca and helping the residents of Franklin Park pay for it is Alastor Monroe. He seems to be back when everyone thought he died in the fire that ravaged the St. Rose Reformatory. His intentions, whatever they may be, are not good and will be revealed in the second narrative arc.

Saint Rose
Phil and Riot flee after the grueling fight in the cavern under the gas station. Phil drives the Cadillac while Riot rests in the back. Having to use her power too soon made her lose consciousness and she still hasn’t woken up. While driving, Phil starts to remember how they met in flashback mode. We see the first years they spent in the St. Rose Reformatory, a mix between the Xavier School and the Arkham Asylum. Here we start to understand the relationship they both forged and we discover the identity of Alastor Monroe, the sinister figure who managed St. Rose with an iron fist.

Stranded in the desert
Phil and Riot are left lying in the desert while traveling from Olmito to Austin, where they wait for another assignment. They have to walk to a gas station to fill up the car, but when they get there, they find something that is out of this world. The dude that comes out of the gas station turns into a demon in front of their very eyes and during a fight, the gas suppliers explode exposing a passageway that leads to a cavern. When they decide to explore it, they find the gas station demon’s family and something out of Lovecraft’s nightmares.

Olmito
This adventure takes our heroes to a small town called Olmito, where they travel to help a woman who wants to get rid of her violent husband. When they meet her, they witness the result of one of his beatings on her face and they accept the case (especially Riot) as a personal mission. But the fact that the target is a redneck who spends the day drinking beer does not mean the job will be easy; he’s related to the town sheriff, who acts like a petty tyrant.
